Amy Dunham is a shareholder of Roberts Markel Weinberg PC. Her practice focuses on corporate law, with an emphasis on complex business litigation, contracts, formation issues, and real estate. She has represented major companies, financial institutions, accounting firms, other business entities, professionals, officers and directors in their most complex litigation and transactional matters. Ms. Dunham also serves as general counsel for several small businesses in the Houston area.
Ms. Dunham has achieved very favorable results in trial, on motion, in settlement and on appeal; however, she understands that sometimes the better result is to never reach the courtroom. Ms. Dunham counsels small companies on litigation avoidance techniques and strategies.
Ms. Dunham has lectured and written on a variety of topics involving entity selection, drafting contracts and complex property issues. Prior to private practice, Ms. Dunham received a Masters of Science in Accounting, with an emphasis in taxation, and a Bachelor of Business Administration, magna cum laude, from Texas Tech University in 2000. Ms. Dunham received a J.D. from Baylor Law School in 2003, where she was awarded the William Trail Award for Civil Procedure. Before beginning her employment in 2008 with Roberts Markel Weinberg PC, Ms. Dunham practiced in the areas of family law, corporate, financial services, as well as taxation at a firm in St. Louis, Missouri. She was also previously employed at a non-profit property management company specializing in historical and tax-credit properties. While there, Ms. Dunham developed two social service housing programs designed to benefit St. Louis' indigent residents. Ms. Dunham funded these programs by obtaining grant awards of over $50,000.
