Dawn S. Holiday has been licensed to practice law since 2004. Dawn Holiday practices in the firm’s litigation department, focusing in the area of professional liability. Prior to joining the firm, Dawn Holiday practiced insurance defense litigation and gained extensive experience in the areas of Personal Injury, Medical Malpractice, Professional Liability, Insurance Coverage Matters, General Negligence, Premises Liability, Products Liability and Worker’s Compensation. Dawn Holiday received her Bachelors of Arts Degree from the University of Houston in 2001, graduating Magna Cum Laude, and her law degree from South Texas College of Law in 2004. While attending law school, Dawn Holiday served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Judge Kenneth M. Hoyt of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Dawn Holiday was also a member of the South Texas Law Review and was elected to the Board in 2002 as an Articles Editor. Dawn Holiday received the Spurgeon E. Bell Scholarship for Outstanding Service and was named to the list of Who’s Who Among American Law School Students for 2002-2004.
Because of her dedication to the practice of law and community service, Dawn Holiday was elected and graduated from the Leadership Academy of the Houston Young Lawyers Association in 2006. During that same year, Dawn Holiday was selected as a fellow of the Houston Young Lawyers Foundation, and recognized as an outstanding member of Houston’s legal community.
Dawn Holiday is an active member of the Houston Young Lawyers Association and has served as a two-time co-chair of the Barbara Jordan Committee, which sponsors an annual speech competition for junior high school students. Dawn Holiday is also a member of the American Bar Association, Texas Young Lawyers Association, Houston Bar Association, Houston Law Association and The Downtown Group, which is an organization of Africa-American women attorneys practicing law in Harris County, Texas.
Dawn Holiday is licensed to practice in all Texas state courts and in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Dawn Holiday is a native Houstonian and was born in 1978.
